Spartan and DreamWorks Animation Celebrate 'Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous' With Virtual Kids Fitness Camp

DreamWorks Animation and Spartan have joined forces to create a free, virtual fitness adventure for kids ages 4 to 14. The partnership celebrates the new animated series Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous — currently streaming on Netflix — from Universal Pictures, DreamWorks Animation, and
Amblin Entertainment.

The Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous Spartan Kids Challenge is a four-week program that will take kids off their couches and on a dinosaur-packed expedition to Jurassic World’s Isla Nublar, where they will build the grit and endurance synonymous with Spartan Kids.

“Spartan was created to help people of all ages get ready for anything, so it’s only natural that we’ve teamed up with DreamWorks Animation and Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous to take kids off their couches and prep them for a dinosaur-packed adventure on Isla Nublar,” said Spartan Founder and CEO Joe De Sena. “I know my kids are ready, and I want every kid to be active, healthy, and have fun, which can be especially difficult in today’s world.”

Beginning on Oct. 2, a series of challenges — called missions — will immerse kids from around the globe in the parallel worlds of Spartan and Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, giving them an opportunity to get active, be healthy, test themselves, and have fun.

Unlock New Missions on the Spartan Virtual Kids Camp App

With the newly-created, free Spartan Virtual Kids Camp app, campers will unlock new missions each week, for a four-week period. When missions are completed, campers earn points. The missions will differ based on age and are tailored to suit both younger and older kids, challenging their minds and bodies with activities such as scavenger hunts, indoor and outdoor cardio activities, and burpee battles.

Campers can complete these missions with or against other Spartan Kids in a variety of languages, and everyone will be ranked by their total points and age group on a global leaderboard. Each user will have their own unique profile that allows them to track their individual points tally, as well as their cumulative progress over four weeks. Points may also be redeemed for a variety of co-branded digital and physical swag including badges, emojis, essential camp supplies, and more. In addition, prizes will be awarded from first place on down upon completion of the four weeks.

Free Entry and a Collector's Edition Upgrade Kit

Entry to the virtual camp is free, but a collector's edition upgrade kit — available from purchase on Spartan's shop — will be available in limited numbers. The kit features a range of exclusive and limited co-branded items including shirts, headbands, water bottles and more, and they are shipped in a custom wearable bag.
